NAI Hanson Completes Sale Of 30 Acres Of Preserved Farmland In Morris County, New Jersey For $410,000

PARSIPPANY, NJ, JULY XX, 2009 -NAI James E. Hanson, a leading New Jersey-based commercial real estate firm, announced today that it has recently completed a $410,000 sale of 30 acres of preserved farmland in Washington Township, New Jersey, which is located at the intersection of Black River Road and Parker Road. NAI Hanson's Sig Schorr, vice president, represented both the seller, Geraldine Turnquist, and the buyer, JRC Properties, LLC, in this transaction.

"Washington Township is currently home to over 60 permanently preserved farms, which account for over 4.4 million of the 6.9 million acres of designated preserved farmland in all of Morris County," said Schorr. "The buyer in this transaction, who plans on utilizing the space for farming and horse grazing, purchased the land to expand upon their current property, which neighbors this parcel of land.  This submarket, which is referred to as 'horse country' because of the thriving farmland and horse grazing,  is the ideal location to suit this buyer's needs at tan agreeable price for both parties.  We view this transaction as an excellent purchase, even in the down market, and we think the buyer will be very happy with this new space."

Located approximately 20 miles outside of New York City, Washington Township is the largest municipality in Morris County and borders Tewksbury Township, Somerset, Warren and Hunterdon Counties.  The property is located on Black River Road and is situated just 1 mile from Hacklebarney State Park, within minutes of Route 206, which provides direct access to Interstates 78 and 287.

"At NAI Hanson, we pride ourselves on having a diverse level of specialties and services that we are able to offer our clients to better meet their changing requirements and needs," remarked William C. Hanson, SIOR, President of NAI Hanson.  "As our resident land expert, Sig Schorr is known in the industry for his expansive knowledge of large properties and his expertise in executing the intricate aspects to be considered when transacting these deals in a clear and concise manner.  We are proud to have Sig on board at NAI Hanson and we look forward to providing similar clients with this same level of excellence in the future."
