More than 250 commercial real estate professionals will be on hand to support the fight for healthy babies and to honor Russo Development’s Ed Russo at the March of Dimes Real Estate Reception and Pynes Putting Challenge on June 11 at the United States Golf Association (USGA) in Far Hills, N.J.The Real Estate Awards reception was founded in 2000 and has been recognizing the hard work of industry leaders to raise awareness about its mission of preventing prematurity, birth defects and infant mortality. This year’s honoree, Mr. Russo, and his wife Shalom experienced firsthand what it was like to have babies born prematurely. “My wife and I feel a personal connection to the March of Dimes and its mission to create a world of stronger, healthier babies because we are the proud parents of 6 1/2 year old triplets who were born eight weeks premature and who spent over 1 month in our hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit,” he explains.

“It is my privilege to be recognized by this tremendous organization at this year’s event. We are incredibly grateful for the March of Dimes’ research, education and tireless advocacy efforts and how their achievements have supported so many families and children less fortunate than ours.”

According to Carol Roberts, director of special events for the March of Dimes New Jersey division, “For 15 years the Real Estate Award Reception has provided a forum for the March of Dimes to raise awareness about its work while honoring an outstanding real estate leader. Ed Russo is well respected within both the industry and community, and he is a wonderful supporter of the March of Dimes.”

In addition to the charity dinner, the event will feature the Pynes Golf Putting Challenge, the brainstorm of New Jersey real estate executive Erik Sletteland of Structure Tone. “The idea to incorporate the golf aspect of this wonderful charity came to me when the renovation and expansion of the USGA Museum was underway,” states Sletteland. The event offers sponsored teams the chance to compete for the championship and prizes at the 16,000 square foot nine-hole putting green adjacent to the USGA Museum. Since its inception, the golf event has helped to raise more than $105,000 for the March of Dimes

The 2015 Real Estate Award reception and Pynes Putting Challenge will take place on Thursday, June 11 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the United States Golf Association headquarters, 77 Liberty Corner Road in Far Hills, N.J. The evening offers the opportunity to network from among New Jersey’s real estate community and affiliated organizations, including senior executives, brokers, managers, architects, developers, owners, engineers and related industry leaders. The evening will also include a short program and a tour of the USGA Museum’s many exhibits, including the new Jack Nicklaus wing.
